Christian Medical College, Vellore
Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, has partnered with Mercy Hospital to conduct a two-year distance education program to provide an opportunity for general medical practitioners to take post-graduate courses and stay up-to-date with modern medical methodologies and treatments. The two-year program with 75 modules for 80 different ailments will build the capacity of general practitioners to manage more cases so that referral to larger hospitals becomes less necessary. This will ultimately benefit the financially burdened patients by enabling them to receive adequate treatment in smaller clinics rather than larger, higher-cost medical facilities.
